Cold Moon

There often isn't a lot of breathing room between the haves and the have-nots, especially in small southern towns. In Cold Moon, for instance, everyone knows everyone in the fictional town of Babylon, Florida, where only a few miles separate a family struggling to survive from a family that has all the money in the world.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For

As far as I can tell, it's absolutely no use trying to figure out where this movie fits in with the first movie. I almost gave myself a headache trying to work it all out. But some people who were dead at the end of the first Sin City are alive here and some who were dead are still dead, even if they're not quite gone. Marv (Mickey Rourke, Immortals) certainly doesn't seem dead or ghostly, though he is stuck being everyone's go-to guy when they want revenge and don't have the muscle to manage it by themselves.

A nice picture of Joseph Gordon-Levitt to help make up for his lack of plot.

Piranha 3-D

I thought I was loopy, going to see this movie. At the ticket counter, I mumbled the title in shame and the girl had to ask me to repeat it. But what was I going to do, watch the sequel to a kids' movie that I hadn't even seen? Or that odd-looking comedy with Jennifer Aniston? Thanks to that huge, unpleasant ad on imdb, I couldn't bear to take the risk of seeing what's his name make that funny face again.
